Alyssa Hui sets 18:57.7 school record! Big PR day for Lions City Champs!

Saturday, October 17 2015

What a day. We had perfect cross country weather and loads of confidence heading in to the CPL Championships on Saturday.
The day began with a spark in the girls varsity race as Alyssa broke 19 minutes for 3 miles, running a school record of 18:57.7 and placing 6th overall! The rest of girls varsity worked together to secure a pair of PRs (Claire and Dana) and a tremenedous finish.
In the boys varsity race, sophomore Cielo exploded for a huge, 40-second PR, running 17:28 for 3 miles. The boys, as a team, worked together to achieve 5 PRs all together!
Toeing the line in the girls junior varsity race, we had a spectacular showing from every runner, as we saw PRs from nearly every member of that team! The future looks bright for this new core of runners.
Continuing the success of our talented young runners, boy's junior varsity exploded for a 5th place finish in the team scoring. Each runner set a personal record - a 59-second PR on AVERAGE for this JV team.
